MAES Faculty Development Symposium

The MAES Faculty Development Symposium (FDS) was held on April 20, 2018, in El Paso, TX.  The MAES FDS sought to help mentor and support pre-tenure Hispanic engineering faculty for success in the engineering professoriate.  Sixteen pre-tenured faculty participated in a one-day workshop on the University of Texas El Paso (UTEP) campus designed to provide skills and resources needed to obtain tenure and successfully transition to tenured faculty appointments. FDS Workshops focused on three core areas: professional development, funding, and networking.  Participants had the opportunity to share their research with their colleagues.  The MAES FDS contributed to building a community of Hispanic engineering faculty to promote opportunities for faculty positions, postdoctoral positions, and research collaborations.  The Faculty Development Symposium is supported by the National Science Foundation (Grant #EEC-1548214).   Click more details to access the agenda and presentation slides.
